Welcome families and students to the 24-25 school year and the beautiful Earl Lawson Early Education Center! My name is Stefanie Bourne and this is my 15th year serving the families of Leavenworth. I am extremely excited for our community as we continue operating this center focusing on play-based instructional models for our students. Play is an important part of childhood and helps develop the whole child through critical thinking skills, collaboration, and social-emotional learning. "Scientists have recently determined that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain--unless it is done with play, in which case, it takes between 10-20 repetitions" (Dr. Karyn Purvis).
